Maundatum
We all know the story of Maundy Thursday - of how Jesus washed his disciples feet as an example of service. And then there's the bit where Peter tries to refuse.
Maybe Peter just had ugly feet, and didn't want to take off his sandals.

Ugly feet I will be contemplating this Thursday eve when we conduct foot washing- which I have never been a part of before. I am thinking pedicure.
As vicar, I participated in foot washing last year and found it to be a very humbling experience.
L&G, it is a very moving service to take part in - both as a washer and as the washed. Don't worry about your feet, just let them be. Part of the experience (for me) is having hte courage and trust to expose our feet.
Good point. Thanks!
You make a very good point. Or...if Peter is like my wife...maybe he just had a thing about feet :)
